WEST COAST // SPRING BREAK 2016

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a lovely week. I wanted to share with you today my spring break experience. This year my brother, nephew, sister-in-law, boyfriend, and I rented an RV and drove down the west coast. Noah and I landed in Seattle, Washington March 27 (Sunday) and got back to Charlotte, North Carolina on April 3. When we landed in Seattle, my brother, Jason, picked us up and drove us to the campsite they were stating in. When we were all ready to hit the road, we headed toward Port Angeles where we had lunch. When lunch was over we drove to our first campsite in Forks, Washington.
(March 28, 2016; Monday) The next day, we were still in Forks, but we decided to head a little bit south and stopped at this beautiful hiking trail that lead to the beach. And since I am an earth-loving freak, I decided that I would pick up trash along the trail and the beach. I ended up with a full bag of trash :(. Anyways, both the trail and the beach were gorgeous. The beach had gray sand and mixes of all sorts of blue waves.
(March 29, 2016; Tuesday) A couple hours pass, and we are now in our third location, the Hoh Rain Forest. The Hoh Rain Forest is lush with great and so much wild life. I probably saw about 12 elks on thee trails. The Hoh Rain Forest also has this ginormous river that could sweep you away if you were to ever fall in. The funniest thing about this campsite is that we had to go with no power all night. We had to go camping "old-school". The next morning, we got up early so we could hike this 3 mile trail. Such an astonishing sight to see! We drive south a bit more and stop at Ruby Beach for lunch. When we got down to the beach, so many logs have washed up from broken or cut down trees. Basically half the beach was logs. As we race the sunset into Oregon, we stop at our fourth location in Astoria. This is actually where the movie The Goonies was filmed.
(March 30, 2016; Wednesday) The next morning, we stop at a little town called Seaside, Oregon. Such a cute town and the people are so nice. We stopped at this donut shop and bought the most delicious donuts one could ever imagine. We walked down to the beach and played around. Three hours later and we stop at a destination called Cape Foulweather. This is a must see place! Beautiful scenery of the Pacific Ocean and the town of Depoe Bay. Defiantly one for the bucket list. As drove for an hour more, we stopped at Beachside State Park for the night. We raced, and played games, but best of all, we were able to see the sunset right there in front of us.
(March 31, 2016; Thursday) Noah and I woke up early to see the sunrise, but completely forgot that the sun rose in the east. However, we were still able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the waves crashing on the beach and birds chirping in the early dew morning. Following our early morning adventure, we packed up the RV to go to our next destination, Thor's Well. This is another one to add to the list of things before you die, especially if it's high tide. We made our way down the coast a little more to stop at the Oregon Coast Sea Lion Caves. Man were there A LOT of sea lions here. Probably over one thousand sea lions and we had to travel down two hundred feet in order to reach the cave. As more hours traveling in the RV pass, we stop at the most west point in the United States, Cape Blanco. Three hours later and we finally make it to the Golden State of California. We stayed the night at Redwood Coast Cabins. It was probably the nicest campground but also the most modern, so I didn't really get the camping feeling.
(April 1, 2016; Friday) This morning all of us woke up pretty early because we had a lot of driving to do today. We first stopped at the Humboldt Redwoods State Park, had lunch at Caspar Beach, then drove all the way down to San Fran. Which of course is another one for the bucket list. We passed through the Golden Gate Bridge and rode up and down the streets of the Shaky City. After San Fran, we finally stopped at In-n-Out :) Of course I got the usual, a cheeseburger with animal style fries and a neapolitan shake. Best way to end our trip down the West Coast.
(April 2, 2016; Saturday) On our last official day, I took Noah and Brett to Zuma Beach and then went to Malibu Café for lunch. This day was a very chill day and did not do that much other than resting and spending even more time with the family.
(April 3, 2016; Sunday) Our final day was spent crying in the airport, that our vacation was actually over. The flight back was fine, just a little sad. I feel that on this trip I really was able to find myself in nature life and city life. I was able to connect with my brother and a whole new level and same goes for my sister-in-law and nephew.
